Back in the pool, everyone.
With the end of the school year, Snyder families looking for recreation ideas can once again head to the Towle Park Pool beginning Tuesday.
The pool opens at 1 p.m. Tuesday for the season, which will run through early August.
“Basically, we’ll keep it open until we run out of lifeguards,” Scurry County Parks Department Director Larry Thompson said. “We’re aiming at keeping it open until about a week before school starts again in August.”
Private parties at the pool are already booked up for the season, but the public is welcome from noon-6 p.m. Tuesdays through Sundays at the facility, Thompson said. Thompson has not announced if the pool will be open on July 4.
The pool is closed on Mondays for weekly maintenance.
Admission is $2.50 and a snack bar is available.
Pool patrons may bring floats or life jackets, but no beach balls or large swimming toys will be allowed.
The Splash Pad adjacent to the pool has already opened. Admission is free, Thompson said.
A $48,000 renovation of the pool, during which it was drained and resurfaced, was completed earlier this year.
